Editing for our poster.
This is the original image we used for our poster and provided the basic platform for the vision of our poster. Notes were laid out in a scattered fashion and the knife was held in position by someone out of the frame.
Blood brush.
As real money was used we needed to edit on the blood for the notes in the original picture. We used the site Brushbeezy to obtain a brush for "photoshop" that provided us with different styles of blood splats/puddles.
Background effect.
We needed our image to have a more disjointed appearance and to achieve this we looked for several background froms google image search. With this one choosen we could experiment with the original image and this background in terms of contrast and brightness. We altered the image`s darkness and contrast in the "Photoshop program" to achieve the desired effect.
Using the background and blood.
As you can see the changes made proved to be significant in terms of adding a more horror related aspect to the original bland image. The blood splat which we obtained from Google image search was used appeared to be consistent and fitted in well with the rest of the image as an example of a blood splat used can be seen below. We reduced the brightness of the overall image to give it a look that represented a disjointed shadow. As you can also see using the pen tool on the program we crossed out all present eyes on the Queen`s face that are found on the notes. We gave the image this look in order to represent the cartoon styled idea of death in cartoons/comics etc where the eyes of the character would be crossed out.
Original image used for reflection
This was the original image of the antagonist that was used in the reflection of the knife. It is the same costume choice that is used in trailer. For this image to work in the reflection we cut unessecary parts of the image (e.g. the sides), sized the image down and then rotated it. Once the image sat in the knife`s reflection we increased the brightness of the photo to make him less immiedietly visible. The reflections purpose is to highlight a key characteristic of the villain by making him appear in the most unlikely of places.
Finished product.
This was the end product. As you can see all the editing that was used served an essential purpose from a clean and visibly bland image we have edited it into a typical horor image that consists of a very disjointed background that overlaps the image, bloodied and sabotaged money and the presence of our villain who appears in a sly manner that is typical of the horror genre and our production.
