Looking back on my production package I believe that I have used the primary codes and conventions of a movie teaser trailer, poster for the trailer and also a magazine front cover. I believe that with the trailer that I have created that I have meet the conventions of a normal horror trailer. I've used quick changing effects between the scenes where I felt that it was necessary to make sure that it builds up tension, and used sound effects such as heartbeats and shock sounds to make sure that the music fits in well with the trailer clips. We have used lots of blood which develops the genre as it continues to follow the tradition of there being lots of blood and gore in horror. I also believe that this trailer can clearly be seen as a horror trailer as we used text on screen that helps to fulfil the conventions of a horror trailer. My trailer "pay day" is centred around money and revenge, the plot of the film is to do with a loan shark and his employee who get on the wrong side of our antagonist who later tries to kill Tony Pane (our main character) and Luke Watts (employee)

With the completed poster I believe that I have met the codes and conventions of other horror posters. The image used is centred in the middle of the page, this is to ensure that when people see the images that are used they can gather some ideas about what the film is centred around. our poster used scattered money, a blade and the face of our antagonist. The main background of the poster is the scattered money with blood stains on it. There is also the blade which is rested on top of the money with a reflection of the antagonist blurred. this idea was used so that we the audience see the poster they wont notice the face at first, at a second glance they may notice the face a realise there is more to the story than just some money and blood.

finally the completed magazine. The magazine was focused on having a central image of the villain. the magazine cover uses the same connotations as other magazine covers with the use of the colours red and black. these colours are used as they ideally fit with the trailer genre horror. the magazine was based on the movie magazine "empire". the magazines image challenges other magazines out there as the image I choose shows a wide open view of the antagonists, this has been used as in the trailer you don't see a full body view of him and is also used so that the audience can see who and what the antagonist will look like in the film.

How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

The combination of all three of the products created has worked very well. They all link together properly as they are all about the same feature. The movie teaser trailer, the movie for the poster and the front cover of a magazine. The trailer only lets you see a snippet of parts which come from the real film, the poster and magazine allow the audience to see pictures of the antagonist that you dont get to see in the trailer. This is a full body image of the antagonist, in the trailer you dont get to see his whole body, this text allows you to see this. Another good effective combination is the magazine and the trailer, the magazine allows you to see which acters are in the films before the trailers been released, this lets the audience see whose in the film and to gather thoughts on weather this will end up being a good film to go and watch. All three of the products created compliment each other as they all fit in with the horror genre that we have commited too creating. Between the texts we have used the same charectors in the trailer, poster and magazine cover. We used the antagonist in the poster, we used an image of his face which was a reflection coming from a blade, we also used the villian for the fornt cover of the magazine which was a full body view.

we also used very similar text in the poster and the magazine. we used colours such as red, black and white as they are very clear to see and are always dominant in horror trailers. the red represents the blood which you will always find in a horror trailer. The black represents the darkness which you can find in the different scenes in the trailer and the white represents the light which you will find in some parts of the trailer, for example the light which can appear between the scenes as they fade in/out between each other.

what have you learned from your feedback?

Learning what to do after you have recieved feedback on the package really helps to correct the mistakes that you may of made and if the people you asked didnt like particular parts of the poster, trailer or magazine. With the trailer the feedback let me know what i needed to change about it. the changing of the scenes between each other and how quick the change should be. The feedback helped with deciding how long the trailer should be whether it was a 1:30 long or 2 - 3 minutes long. This would also determine the length of the soundtrack and where we could add the voice overs from a phone call which features in the trailer. The feedback really helped us to make sure that our trailer which we had filmed was in thr right catagory we chose which was horror. there were some elements that we had to add in such as adding more blood and quicking interchanging scenes. The feedback also helped us to change some of the scenes that we had rginally used. For example we had a chase scene with our main charector running out of the door then down a dark street. From the feedback we learned that this scene really didnt work well with other parts of the trailer, we then changed the scene of Tony running down the street to him trying to open a car and then drive away.

How did you use media technologies in the construction and research planning and evaluation stages?

When creating the soundtrack to the trailer i used a music producer software called fl studio 10 (producer edition). this was a very helpful tool in creating the soundtrack. this is an easy to use software for begginers as it has a simple layout and is easy to understand and get the hang of.  The use of windows movie make has helped to create our final trailer. This was a good tool to use as it was easy to learn and figure out how to make the actual trailer. We research particular ways of using different camera angles to create different scenes and feeling in the trailer. we used shots such as close up to show the significance of blood on the scales to make sure we had that "horror effect". The use of lighting helped to create the horror trailer as you will always find a horror trailer that is dominated by darkness and flashing lights. The use of the makeup such as fake blood, knives, the house, the car, ripped clothes and masks helped to make sure that the actual footage looked as much like a proper horror teaser trailer. the blood helped to carry on the codes and conventions of horror trailers by us creating pools of blood, blood on the ripped clothes which were used on actors, the mask for our villian and also the clothes in which he was dressed in. The use of a digital camera helped us to keep in touch with modern day technology, this meant that it was easy to upload clips onto windows movie maker and then edit them to create our trailer. The use of FL Studio 10 helped to create the soundtrack and sound effects that were used during the trailer. this meant that we could use original instruments to help create the horror style of music.
