Chosen Institution.
We have chosen “Twisted Pictures” as the production company that our film will be in close partnership with.
“Twisted Pictures” information:
·They are an American independent production company specializing in the horror genre.
·They have produced a selection of films that include the entire seven film Saw collection, Dead silence and the latest Texas Chainsaw Massacre adaption in 3-D.
The appeal of “Twisted Pictures”:
Their horror titles are very much related to the style of our film in the sense that there is a lot of focus on gore and bloodshed as oppose to the
supernatural.
They are a well-established company due to their excessive work since being founded in 2004. This means we will have access to a vast amount of necessary resources and locations. This will also help in cinema release due to the popularity of “Twisted Pictures” as the success of past productions will help draw a lot of attention to our film upon cinema release.
In terms of the aftermarket potential we feel that our product will be entitled to immediate DVD/Blu ray release.
Even more so the possibility of merchandise is a huge factor. “Saw” for example had released much merchandise e.g. Jigsaw dolls, clothing etc. But the most ambitious was the “Saw” Maze and “Saw” ride that released in Thorpe Park. Although this will be unlikely for us to achieve the fact that they managed to expand their merchandise this far further assures us that we can most likely create much merchandise related to our film that will help increase the film`s profits and popularity.

What we have learnt from this feedback:
Following this feedback we now are aware of what readers and viewers will expect in terms of our production pieces. We have learnt that a suitable length for our trailer will be between 90-120 seconds, as many participants varied on their opinion. Furthermore for our trailer we now understand that darkness must be a predominant factor in terms of lighting. We also know that we must include significant horror props such as knives and weapons, a genre typical soundtrack, as furthermore our audience feedback has made us aware that our character development should be limited. In terms of the end of trailer a cliff-hanger would be the most suitable way to conclude or piece, as not only is it a conventional way of doing so, but it is what our audience expect.
In terms of our poster our audience expect colours typically associated with horror (red, black, grey and white) to predominantly feature on the poster, as well as a strong focus on the horror element of our production, the antagonist. Our participants also expect mandatory features on the poster, such as a release date and the title of the film. However in terms of what shot type is most suitable to capture our villain our feedback was inconclusive, however we believe that a close up would be most suitable in order to keep with the villain`s representation, as an unpredictable and concealed individual.
Audience feedback on questions regarding their expectations for our magazine cover was also useful. Once again they expect the colours of black, grey, red and white to predominantly feature on the page, as well as a strong focus on the villain via one large selected image rather a selection of smaller ones. As it is a magazine our participants also expect a variety of literary devices that range from puns to alliteration.

Postproduction questionnaire.
We have also created a postproduction questionnaire to give to participants in order to gain some helpful feedback in terms of what we done well and what we could improve on. It will also be helpful in terms of what they originally expected to see (preliminary questionnaire) and what they were presented with, as we can see whether we achieved what our potential audience wanted and expected to see.
